We are proud to present the inaugural exhibition of our Artist-in-Residence program, celebrating the creative journey of our first resident artist.
Kimberly Sewell is a multidisciplinary artist and educator currently located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her visual art practice currently centers around fiber arts and printmaking and the different ways these mediums can be combined. Kimberly’s work often centers her experiences as a queer, disabled, and chronically ill woman, utilizing symbolism and sometimes humor to connect with the viewer. Holding an MFA in creative writing from Regis University, Kimberly also finds teaching within the arts to be a powerful way to connect with her community and enhance her own practice. She has shown work across Southern Colorado and throughout New Mexico, where she lives with her husband and their clowder of cats. Follow her on IG @housecat_creations and on Fb at /HouseCatCreations or visit her website at housecatcreations.com to see upcoming opportunities to learn as well as keep up with her latest work.
