This virtual hybrid Genealogy class, taught by Dina Carlson editor of Iron Gate Publishing, will give you some tips and tricks to focus your Genealogy research and writing.

Most Genealogists love the hunt. They relish their time in the archives and libraries, and can't get to bed without one last look at the computer. Most of our non-genealogical relatives would rather read about what you've found with or without the trip through the dust. But how do you choose a project that will showcase your hard work, without committing to another War and Peace? Leave the epic adventure to Tolstoy, this class will give you some tips and tricks to focus your research and writing so that you can wrap up a project in time for a holiday or family gathering, and then move on to the next interesting thing to share with your family. This is a Hybrid class, you can bring your own laptop or IPad, or a Chromebook will be provided after you register.

This class is taught remotely by Dina Carson, editor of Iron Gate Publishing, who has been involved in genealogy for more than three decades, and is currently the coordinator of the Boulder Pioneers Project, a comprehensive look at the original source documents for Boulder County during the Territorial period (1859-1876). She is the author of more than ninety annotated indexes of Boulder County source materials. She lectures frequently to genealogical societies throughout the state and is working with the Colorado State Archives on state-wide indexing projects. Dina is the author of 10 books about publishing and genealogy including, Publish Your Family History: A Step-by-Step Guide to Writing the Stories of Your Ancestors, and two recent books, "Map Your US Research: A Workbook for Genealogists" and "Colorado's Historical Assets: A Research Guide for Genealogists, Local Historians and History Buffs." Registration accepted, and walk-ins welcome, but a laptop may not be guaranteed without registration.
