Learn about Lineage Societies and how to join them. Lineage Society Volunteers and Librarians can help with your questions and your genealogy research brick walls.
Do you have Colonial Ancestors in your family tree who supported the American Revolution as a soldier or as a civilian? Did your ancestors arrive on the Mayflower? Are you interested in joining one or more Genealogy Lineage Society? Find out about Genealogy Lineage Societies and how to join Colonial Dames XVII Century, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and other Lineage Societies. Learn which requirements are needed to join each Society, the application process, and how to navigate Genealogical Brick Walls; all questions welcome. This workshop is presented by members of the Colonial Dames XVII Century, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the PCCLD Local History and Genealogy Department Staff. You may bring your own laptop or IPad, or the PCCLD Local History & Genealogy Dept. will provide a Chromebook for you to use. Class is free and open to the public. Registration is required if you want to have a laptop, but walk-ins are welcome. There will be a one-hour break for lunch. The class will be held at the Local History and Genealogy Dept. on the third floor research area of Rawlings Library.
