In recognition of Hispanic Heritage month, taste some chocolate and learn about the Grand Food Exchange between the Old World and the New World.
This Kit2Go will have chocolate and informational printouts of the Program
Learn about where Chocolate came from 4000 years ago beginning in ancient Mesoamerica, present day Mexico, where the first cacao plants were found. The Olmec, one of the earliest civilizations, were the first to turn the cacao plant into chocolate. The Aztecs used the cocoa beans as currency—its history is fascinating and will be shared, AND you will get a taste of chocolate. Be sure to join us on October 7 for a virtual presentation about a cornucopia of food from the Old World and the New World by Charlene Garcia Simms
